Clarification on notes passed to Square Register app

I’m looking for some clarification about what & where we can add notes on orders sent to the Square Register app. When we were developing for it initially, only item level notes were allowed. On each line item we can add a ‘note’ property.

Order notes are not available, though, right? I think this post might be addressing the same question: Passing Order notes - #3 by Spartan

We’re doing pickup fulfillment, not shipping, but I assume the same answer applies, that there’s no ability to add custom notes to the order itself that will show up on the Register app?

That is correct, only the line item notes will show up as far as I know.
