Hi Square Developer Team,
We are building a merchant-authorized promotion integration between Orbit, a student community platform, and UME tea, a Square seller. The merchant has completed Production OAuth authorization for Orbit, including DISCOUNT_CODES_READ and DISCOUNT_CODES_WRITE.
We would like to request special access to the Discount Codes API. Our intended use case is to issue an individual, single-use code for $2 off one eligible drink, initially limited to one merchant-approved location, and let that customer redeem it during checkout in the official Square Kiosk app, without cashier assistance. Square should enforce code validity and redemption limits, and Orbit should reconcile the redemption with the completed order/payment.
We understand that the Discount Codes API is not yet generally available. We have not confirmed that the official Square Kiosk app supports redemption of codes issued through this API, so confirming that channel is an essential part of our review before we launch any campaign.
Could you help us begin the access review and confirm whether this use case is supported? We can provide our application ID, merchant and location information, OAuth scopes, and proposed test plan privately. We would also appreciate the supported API documentation and any Sandbox/Production eligibility requirements.
Can the official Square Kiosk flow also prevent this offer from stacking with the merchant’s 15% new-customer promotion or existing Square Loyalty rewards?
No campaign has launched. We plan to validate a small controlled test before any wider issuance.
Thank you,
Orbit team
