We are building Spot, an item-specific gifting platform integrated with local cafés, and would like to request access to the Discount Codes API for our Square application.
We launched last month and are currently working with nine café partners, with approximately 50 transactions processed during our first month. As we continue onboarding more Square merchants, access to the Discount Codes API would allow us to provide a much smoother and more intuitive redemption experience for both customers and baristas.
Our use case is to generate unique, single-use discount codes tied to Catalog pricing rules for specific item variations. For example, a recipient could receive a voucher redeemable for exactly one iced matcha at a participating café.
We would like access to:

We plan to use max_redemptions: 1 and associate each code with an item-specific pricing_rule_id. This would allow our café partners to receive prepaid item purchases through Spot while recipients redeem the selected items through the café’s existing Square POS workflow.
Could someone from the Square team assist us with the special-access process? We would be happy to provide our Application ID, merchant information, expected volume, and implementation details privately.
