we can do it through the API ( a painful solution if you ask me), what’s the point to restrict those functionality in the dashboard ? 
This is mostly a result of some technical differences between what’s possible with API-created subscriptions and how the Subscriptions Dashboard is meant to be used today. We hear you on the pain point though, and it’s something we hope to improve on in the future!
