I have built an app that relies on the sdk, and it works in iOS in developer mode. However, when I try to submit it to the Apple App Store, during review it is being rejected because I do not have a MFi Product Plan ID. I was provided a form that I could fill out on these forums, and have filled it out sveraly times since the end of May 2026 with no follow up from square. Can someone assist me with how to get the PPID?
I have submitted to support multiple times, and generated multiple tickets that have not recieved a response or followup.
Here is the note I got from Apple:
2.1.0 - Information Needed
We are unable to post the app to the App Store at this time because the app has not been authorized by the accessory manufacturer to work with the MFi accessory:
com.squareup.s020
com.squareup.s025
com.squareup.s089
com.squareup.protocol.stand
Next Steps
To resolve this issue, please contact the accessory manufacturer to request the app be added to the MFi Product Plan form.
Once the accessory manufacturer confirms that the app has been added to the MFi Product Plan form, please reply to this message. When we receive your reply with this confirmation, we can proceed with the review. We do not require a new binary.
If you have not yet provided the accessory’s MFi Product Plan ID (PPID), please enter this information in the Notes section for the app in App Store Connect. If you do not know the PPID, please request this information from the accessory manufacturer.
Apologies we changed our MFi approval process recently and looks like your submissions may have been submitted during that transition window. Could you share the app name so I can track it down on our side? I’ll get on this right away.
Thank you @ashley-square!
Thank you so much for jumping on this — really appreciate it.
App Name: Fox-Mar ID Kiosk
I’ll send you the bundle ID, Team ID, Square Application ID, and the two existing case numbers via DM so we don’t post identifiers publicly. Apple’s review case is currently on hold under Guideline 2.1.0 awaiting MFi authorization confirmation; they’ve stated they do not require a new binary, just confirmation that the app has been added to Square’s MFi Product Plan and the PPID.
Sending the rest via DM in a moment.
Thank you again for jumping on this. i realized that I cannot send you a DM for some reason, so here is some more information.
App Name: Fox-Mar ID Kiosk
Bundle Identifier: com.foxmar.idkiosk
Apple Team ID: QZ9U8RJ3V8
Existing support cases on this:
- Case #118303487 — initial inquiry (May 29, 2026)
- Case #118371518 — MFi Product Plan request (May 29, 2026)
Both have been pending since submission — if they fell into the transition window, happy to consolidate everything under whichever case is most convenient on your end.
I’d prefer not to post our Square Application ID and a couple of other identifiers publicly. If you let me know the best way to send those to you privately (DM here, reply to one of the existing case threads, or another channel), I’ll get them over right away.
Apple’s status: Our App Store submission (Fox-Mar ID Kiosk 1.0.0, build 16) is currently on hold under Guideline 2.1.0 awaiting MFi authorization confirmation. Apple has stated they do not require a new binary they’re simply waiting on confirmation that the app has been added to Square’s MFi Product Plan, and the PPID.
Thank you again for the quick response.
You can submit securely using the form linked below if you’d like! Your last post has almost everything I need though I’m just missing a description for your app. Square Mobile Payments SDK - Stand MFi Approval Form
Thank you, Ashley! Filling out the form now and including the app description.
Thank you so much!
I just submitted your application to Apple.
I’ll let you know as soon as I’ve confirmed Apple has approved your application, at which point you can submit your app to the App Store. Please note that this process may take a few days to complete.
If you are not distributing your application via the App Store, this process is not required. If you would like to remove Stand support, please delete the Square values from the UISupportedExternalAccessoryProtocols array in your application’s Info.plist file.
Thank you so much, Ashley — really appreciate you getting this through. I’ll watch for your confirmation and won’t submit to the App Store until I hear back from you.
Thanks again for moving this along.
Thanks for your patience.
Our team has confirmed that your application was approved by Apple. You should now be able to submit your application to the App Store.
Please include the following with your App Store review notes:
This application uses the external accessory protocols com.squareup.s020, com.squareup.s025, com.squareup.s089 and com.squareup.protocol.stand (PPID# 127167-0003, 127167-0006, 127167-0005, 127167-0004 and 112944-0189).
If you encounter any Square-related problems with your App Store submission, please just reply to this message and I’ll be happy to help.
Thank you very very much! I will submit that. In the future, for additional applications (made by same developer and on the same apple account), can these same review notes be used for alternate/similar apps developed by the same developer?
No, for new applications you will need to resubmit an application using the same form.
