How does app_fee_money appear on an end customer receipt

We want to explore the possibility of using app_fee_money with the terminal API.

However, we would like to know how the end customer would see this amount reflected on their payment receipt? or how it appears on the Square terminal along with the rest of the line items, taxes, etc. from his order?

Does it appear as a Application Fee or does it get reflected in any other term?

It has the possibility to show a few different way. If you set a nickname for the main location for the account it will show on the customers receipt. For example this is a receipt from a payment taken with my account.

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for the response.

I have couple of clarifications.

  1. Would our application name gets displayed as the Fee Source, or is it the particular business location’s nickname that would get displayed here?

  2. Is there a way to set a custom name like ‘Convenience Fee’ to the ‘app_fee_money’, when passing it to the API?

At this time the business nickname is used as the Fee Source. If you’d like to make the Fee Source be called Convenience Fee then you’ll need to make the nickname of the accounts main location Convenience Fee. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @Bryan-Square ,
Where can we (as the Developer) add our Bank Details to receive these funds from the app_fee_money?

Is it through the ‘Seller Dashboard’ (Accounts & Settings > Business Information > Bank Accounts) section of our Developer account on developer.squareup.com?

Because I do not see any option for adding a Bank account inside the ‘Developer Dashboard’.

That’s correct, you’ll have to add the bank account from the Dashboard. There isn’t a programmatic way to add bank accounts to a Square account at this time. :slightly_smiling_face:
