Catalog Custom Attributes docs 💔, and Adding more Catalog Objects, and Seller Read Only permission

  1. Feature request: supporting custom attributes on other catalog objects, like Categories. Current state if you try to you get an error:
detail: 'CATEGORY is not an Allowed Object Type. They are limited to the following: ITEM,ITEM_MODIFIER_OPTION,ITEM_VARIATION'

It probably wouldn’t be too hard to add these to other catalog objects. It’s really nice and valuable for an integration to be able to tag on metadata. Please consider adding it!

  1. Also please improve documentation by:

  • Overall the Custom Attributes in Catalog don’t get a single mention in this dev essentials doc Custom Attributes Overview. I think they came first, and then the others followed. But the entire article on it doesn’t even mention Catalog.

  • Document that Catalog sparse updates are not possible, rather you need to always post all attributes or you will lose them Add Custom Attributes

  1. Offer SELLER_VISIBILITY_READ_ONLY_VALUES for Catalog custom attributes
