Adding Custom Fields to Post Tap to Pay Customer Workflow?

Hello – I’m evaluating Square Tap to Pay for a client and have a question about functionality. I’ve searched through the support documents and haven’t been able to find a clear answer about this one way or another – if the answer is RTFM I’d appreciate a link to the FM :slightly_smiling_face:

After collecting a payment via tap to pay, I see it’s possible to link the transition to a customer account, or enter new customer information.

In addition to collecting standard customer information (name/phone/etc.) my client is interested in adding custom fields to this post-tap-to-pay checkout experience. We know the Notes field in there, but we want to capture data in a structured way. Does Square support anything like that? Or are we limited to the standard customer fields?

Is this with the Square app or a custom solution your building? If it’s with the Square app then the checkout flow isn’t customizable beyond the features in the app. :slightly_smiling_face:

Okay, the post payment workflows are extremely limited. Updating and adding customer information isn’t currently available. You can only update customer information on a payment in the Dashboard at this time post a completed payment. :slightly_smiling_face:
