Square Terminal / POS Checkout Flow Modifications

Hey all!

I’m new to developing with Square hardware and as far as I can tell, there is not a way to do this.

Is there any way to adjust the customer facing checkout process on Square hardware?

For example, the customer may

  1. Tap to Pay
  2. Fill out tip prompt
  3. Answer receipt question

Is there a way to add an additional form between 2/3 that may collect/send/receive data? Technically, this would act similarly to any web form. On the other hand, I understand this may, if used incorrectly, negatively impact the customer UX and perception of Square products.


:wave: Currently the ability to add an additional form between the tip screen and the receipt screen isn’t currently possible with Point of Sale API or Reader SDK. We’re constantly working to improve our features based on feedback like this, so I’ll be sure to share your request to the API product team. :slightly_smiling_face:
