360 image, 3D and / or AR integration

I am a Content Creator that wants to value-add for some of my client’s Square online shops by adding 360-spin files to their listings (Australia, NSW).
I have already previously started a thread in the Seller Community (AU) here outlining the issue:
(had to remove link as this is my first post and post wouldn’t show with them. all links in responses below)

I initially wanted to create and host .spin files myself and use them for Square.
As it turns out, this is a proprietary integration provided through Sirv.com which requires an account, as image files are hosted there and rendered out.
Integration into Square happens via pasting an HTML link to the .spin file like this test file below

On html import Square checks for links coming from sirv.com, everything else gets rejected. So I guess that’s a business partnership right there, which is currently limiting that approach to other developers.

I would like to see if the Square Online platform would be open to either:

  1. Create controllable Spins like Sirv does from 360 GIFs previously created elsewhere
  2. Square could open up pathways for other Content Creators like myself, who could even provide full 3D model images and AR capability served on fast Amazon based servers like in this example here:

Here’s the ‘proof of concept’ (containing still, gif and spin) on my wife’s online store:

We’re constantly working to improve our features based on feedback like this, so I’ll be sure to share your request to the API product team. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Brian! Happy to collaborate

Hi @Bryan-Square , has there been any progress on this front?

I can now also host 360 models and AR, it would be so fabulous to be able to integrate those.
FYI check out latest developments on my website here:

At this time there aren’t any updates on this feature request. :slightly_smiling_face:

sad to hear, thanks anyway for the prompt response Bryan-Square!
