Add item to Square ONLINE via Catalog-Api, Inventory-Api or another api

Is there a way to use the Inventory API to add an item so that appears in the online store without any other human intervention?

I cannot find one. Snippets and Sites apis seem irrelevant to this.

Ideally, we’d like to (via API) add products to the online store, with proper images and (if possible) categorization.

 @jeff-clearmind, unfortunately at this time the ability to add items to the online store and make it available via our APIs isn’t currently available. :slightly_smiling_face:

Any (perhaps very general) timeframe? Thinking this feature is probably on your roadmap.

Currently we don’t have a public roadmap or timelines that we can share for upcoming releases or feature enhancements. We’re constantly working to improve our products and services based on the feedback we receive from customers. I’ll be sure to share this with the appropriate team.

I think it’s a valid use case for certain stores to offer items via both POS and online. Also, with your many APIs, the lack of a true onlinestore-api is a noticeable omission. I realize that the online store part is built on a Weebly backend - but this is why Square bought Weebly, to tightly integrate them, yes?

We’re constantly working to improve our features based on feedback like this, so I’ll be sure to share your request to the API product team.

Thanks @Bryan-Square - I saw this so I went ahead and shared with a few product colleagues I think may be interested. Thanks for the feedback @jeff-clearmind.

Any update on this? I’m interested in this as well. Specifically adding items with images and category set via API.

thanks,

John
