We are migrating our codebase from ReaderSDK to PaymentsSDK.
While trying to connect NFC reader (Model: SPC1-01), the Square Reader screen popup shows “Success” but suddenly goes to Failed to Connect status (as shown in the images).
But the same reader is connected to “Square” app and appears in the Bluetooth connected devices on iPad (mentioned in the last two screenshots).
- The reader is fully charged.
- The iPad is running iPadOS 18.4
- I have added
- NFC capability to Xcode
- In info.plist
- Location Usage description
- Microphone usage description
- Bluetooth Peripheral usage description
- Bluetooth Always usage description
The Xcode log does not show any log statements.
Can I know what is going wrong here?

Hello @Bryan-Square ,
I hope you had chance to look into this issue.
After getting connected are you getting any reader status updates that indicate that firmware is updating? We are seeing that the firmware is trying to be updated which does cause the reader to disconnect at times when doing an update.
