I’m trying to setup the connection from Business Central to the Square Payment Extension. After a lot of difficulty I have been able to get to the end of the instructions on the support site however only some of the functionality is available to me.
I can add a customer from BC to the Square Dashboard (sandbox) but a stored card in square does not show up in BC and I can not add a card in BC. Also all of the other features are grayed out and trying to add a terminal doesn’t work.
I need help figuring out what is wrong with my setup. (And I’m a newbie so please don’t assume I know anything, because I don’t )
Is the Square account fully setup? Before you can accept card payments through your Square account, you’ll need to complete the last step, which includes a basic identity verification. To complete the activation process:
Sign in to your online Square Dashboard > click Activate Your Account to take payments.
Select Verify Your Identity.
If you are having trouble locating your Setup Guide on your Square Dashboard and you already started the enrollment process for Square Online:
On the next page, complete all required fields regarding you and your business.
If you have any trouble entering your information, keep these tips in mind:
Enter your legal first and last name. If you recently changed your name, enter your previous name. (e.g., If you recently married, try entering your maiden name.)
Use your current home address. If this is the address you initially entered, or if you’ve moved within the last 6 months, try using your previous home address.
Square may request that you submit additional information, including a selfie and your physical government-issued photo identification document (copies won’t work), for verification purposes before your account is activated. You’ll receive an email notification if we need more information.
If you received the notification, log in to your online Square Dashboard and select Verify Identity. Follow the prompts to complete and send the images to us for further review.
You’ll need to use a separate Square account for testing because the Square Sandbox is intended to be a developer-facing tool. Square Bridge is an end-to-end solution that typically doesn’t require development by sellers. By having a separate account for testing, transactions don’t flow to your production ERP system and interfere with your financial reporting.
ok thanks, but i am still confused. Maybe I am doing this “wrong”
I am a seller that wants to take payments in BC. I loaded the BC extension and followed the instructions (I thought) Is this not the way to take square payments in BC? If so what should I be doing? (and I really dont want to be a developer )
thanks but I think I am missing that last step of being able to use a test card to run a test transaction. Any suggestions on how I get over that last hurdle?
I was back in BC and now a “stored” card on a Square sandbox customer has shown up. So I guess they are talking but all of the “pay with…” items are grayed out.
Did you configure and authorize sandbox or production? It should work if you’ve gone through all the steps. I’d recommend reaching out to [email protected]
thanks I also see a reference to “activating” the account in the FAQs but it takes me to my live account not to a sandbox account. (again thanks for the help, the extension appears to be exactly what I need)
Hello, can you please send me the details on e-mail: [email protected]?
I will check the issue and if it is needed, will assign a meeting request in order to check it together.
