Hi Square team,
We’re StarterByte, a mobile and web ordering platform for restaurants and coffee shops, built entirely on Square (Orders, Payments, Customers, Catalog and Loyalty APIs).
Many of our sellers offer delivery. We book the courier ourselves through Third Party Services, so we only need the order to show up in the seller’s POS as a delivery.
The problem: we can only create order’s with the PICKUP fulfillment type, the Orders API returns 200. As a workaround we send delivery orders as PICKUP fulfillments with a “*** DELIVERY ***” note. So every delivery order prints “PICKUP” at the top of the ticket and shows as pickup in the Square Dashboard.
This recently cost one of our sellers real money. Staff read a delivery order as a pickup and paid a third-party service $50 to deliver it, then our Uber courier arrived for the same order.
We’d like to request access to DELIVERY fulfillments for our application so these orders appear in Square POS and print as deliveries.
