We are building a platform that integrates with Square via OAuth to connect new sellers.
Currently, merchants complete a comprehensive business profile on our platform including their Business Name, Business Type, and Trading Address. When they transition to Square via our OAuth flow to create a new account, they are forced to manually re-enter this exact same information on the Square signup form. This double data entry causes unnecessary friction and drop-off during onboarding, especially for mobile users.
We would love to see a supported mechanism either via URL parameters on the app.squareup.com/signup
page or through a secure API payload prior to redirect to pass these specific fields into the Square signup flow.
We fully understand the strict regulatory and KYC requirements surrounding business verification and ownership. Even if these fields were simply pre-populated for the seller to visually review, confirm, or edit (rather than bypassing verification entirely), it would vastly improve the onboarding UX for partner-referred sellers.
Is this something on the roadmap for the App Marketplace, or is there an existing partner program affordance for this?
