Existing Google Business Profile not matching with Square location

Hello Square Developer Support,

I need assistance linking my Square location to our existing verified Google Business Profile.

Business name: Mi Casa Kitchen
Square location: 2520 N Ronald Reagan Blvd, Suite 148, Longwood, FL 32750
Phone: (407) 719-6866
Connected Google account: [email protected]

This Google account manages our existing verified Mi Casa Kitchen Google Business Profile, which has approximately 490 reviews. However, Square displays the following message:

“No match found. Create a new Google location to continue.”

I disconnected and reconnected the Google account, but Square still cannot locate or match the existing profile. During one attempt, I also received:

“INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR: failed to exchange code.”

I do not want a new Google location created because that could duplicate our established profile and jeopardize our reviews. Please investigate the integration logs and manually match or link this Square location to our existing verified Google Business Profile.

Thank you.

You’re right not to create a new Google location. Reviews don’t transfer to a new listing, and Google treats duplicates as a policy violation and suppresses them from Search and Maps.

“No match found” usually isn’t Google failing to return your profile, it’s our matcher comparing address fields too strictly and discarding a valid candidate. We confirmed this recently on a case where the ZIP code was stored with a +4 suffix (32750-1234) while Google had the 5-digit version, and the strings had to match exactly.

Two things that would help us confirm quickly:

  1. In your Square location settings, is the postal code stored as 32750 or with a -#### suffix?
  2. In Google Business Profile Manager, how is the address written exactly — is “Suite 148” present, and is it “Suite” or “Ste”? Is it “N” or “North” Ronald Reagan Blvd?

The INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR: failed to exchange code is a separate issue on our side. If you can share roughly when that happened, it helps us correlate logs.

Thank you. I checked the address information, and there are several formatting differences.

In my Square location settings, the address is stored as:

2520 N Ronald Reagan Blvd Ste 148
Longwood, FL 32750-3521

In Google Business Profile Manager, the address is written as:

2520 North Ronald Reagan Boulevard Suite 148
Longwood, Florida 32750

The public Google listing currently displays it as:

2520 N Ronald Reagan Blvd #148
Longwood, FL 32750

Therefore, Square has the ZIP+4 suffix “32750-3521,” while Google uses only “32750.” Square also uses “N,” “Blvd,” and “Ste,” while Google Business Profile Manager uses “North,” “Boulevard,” and “Suite.”

The “INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR: failed to exchange code” occurred on Monday, September 7, 2026, at approximately 4:57–5:00 p.m. Eastern Time while reconnecting the Google account to Square.

Would you recommend changing the Square location address to match the Google Business Profile Manager exactly before attempting the match again? I want to make sure we correct the existing connection without creating a duplicate Google location.

Thank you.

Thanks for checking those details so quickly, that helped a lot.

You shouldn’t need to change your Square address. All four differences you found should already be handled by our matching logic.

I’m following up with the engineers who maintain our Google integration now, including on that Sept 7 error, where your timestamp was exactly what they needed. Your existing verified profile should be able to be linked without creating a duplicate, so your reviews aren’t at risk.

I’ll update you as soon as I hear back!

Hello Ashley,

I’m following up to see whether there have been any updates from the engineering team regarding this issue. Square is still unable to match our existing verified Mi Casa Kitchen Google Business Profile, and we have not made any changes to the address or disconnected the accounts while awaiting your guidance.

We want to avoid selecting “Create a new Google location.” We only want Square to match and connect to our established Google Business Profile with its existing reviews.

Could you please let me know the current status of the investigation or whether you need any additional information from me?

Thank you for your assistance.

I checked the Square channel again today, and it still displays ‘No match found. Create a new Google location to continue.

Thank you for following up. Our engineering team is working on a fix for this I will follow back up with them now to get a timeline for you.

We are working on a fix for this but don’t yet have the timeline for it. In the meantime you could try updating the state field to be “FL” instead of “Florida” it looks like that’s where the matching is failing.

Thank you for the update. I’m willing to try that.

To confirm, my Square location currently displays the state as “FL,” while Google Business Profile Manager displays it as “Florida.” Are you recommending that I update the state field in my existing Google Business Profile from “Florida” to “FL”?

I want to make sure I update the correct side and continue using our existing verified Google profile rather than creating a new location.

Thank you.

Actually we just shipped the change to handle the state conversion on our side. Could you try to go through the matching again without making any address changes?

Thank you ma’am! The fix worked successfully.

I went through the matching process again without making any address changes, and Square found our existing Mi Casa Kitchen Google Business Profile. The location now shows as synced.

I also enabled Order with Google and set our Square online ordering profile as the preferred ordering link on Google.

Thank you very much for investigating this issue and implementing the fix. I truly appreciate your assistance.
