Developer Account: Status stuck on "Incomplete" and "Add team member" redirects to Dashboard

Hi everyone,

I am setting up a developer account to integrate Square APIs for a client, but I am facing an issue in the Team members section of the Seller Dashboard.

  • Issue: My user status as Owner is stuck on “Incomplete”.

  • Behavior: Whenever I click on the “Incomplete” status badge or click the “Add team member” button, the page fails to open the setup form and immediately redirects me back to the main Dashboard Home.

As a developer, I need to invite additional team members to this account to collaborate on testing and managing developer access.

Could someone from the support or developer team advise on how to resolve this incomplete onboarding state or bypass the redirect loop so I can add team members?

A few follow up questions-

  1. are you in production or sandbox?
  2. if prod, how many team members are added already?
  3. if prod, have you completed compliance details like address/DOB etc.? It’s worth checking whether activation completed. Identity verification is geo-restricted, so it can quietly fail if you’re completing it from outside the account’s country.

I’ve tried in both Sandbox (setting Developer as the primary job) and Production. In Sandbox, I get this error:

Oh no, something went wrong.
It looks like we are experiencing some problems on our end.

Meanwhile, in Production—where I believe I’ve filled everything out—it keeps telling me my profile is incomplete and redirects me to the dashboard. I am the only one working on production at the moment because I cannot add staff members.

We are in Italy and operate from Italy. Sandbox test account is US. Do I need to create a Sandbox account in IE?

Ah yes! Italy is not a supported country for Square at this time so there are a lot of edges like this you will run into. IE is a supported country.

I need to have a call with a US-based client regarding the integration of a mobile app into your solution; although we are an Italian development company, we need to develop a solution for a client (a restaurant) located in New Jersey.
