A few questions about the API

We’re evaluating Square as the payment option for a web application. We have a few questions,

• Is it possible for web users to save credit card details on Square’s systems (not our systems) and use them for quick payments in the future with the Square API? Can you point to an example?
• Is it possible to mark a payment as being pre-authorized, which would require another step to capture it? We need to be able to review a user’s application. They can make a payment but admin staff need to review the application and then capture the pay.
• What reporting tools does Square provide for transactions and reconciliations?
• Can we query the API on a specific transaction to get its details? Can this be done via the web?

• Yes, with Delay Capture your able to AUTHORIZE payments and capture it after with CompletePayment.
• With our Payments API, Orders API, Catalog API, Inventory API, Customers API, and Payouts API you can create reports that fit your business need.
• Yes, you’ll be able to see all transactions in the Dashboard as well as Square generated reports in the Dashboard.

You’ll setup a Square account which is the same as a developer account. Then you’ll get to use our sandbox and developer tools.
