SearchSubscriptions returns empty on production and 500 on sandbox, while RetrieveSubscription works

Since at least October 22, 2026, POST /v2/subscriptions/search has stopped working for our account in both environments, on every Square-Version we’ve tried (2024-01-18, 2025-01-23, 2026-01-22).

On production, the search returns HTTP 200 with an empty body (no subscriptions array and no cursor), both with a location filter and with no filter at all. The location has about 15 active subscriptions, and GET /v2/subscriptions/{subscription_id} returns every one of them.

On sandbox, the same search returns HTTP 500 INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR (“An internal error has occurred, and the API was unable to service your request.”), with and without the filter. GET /v2/subscriptions/{id} works there too.

Production application ID: sq0idp-MwwyYHoFjGvN2xMytbbbJw
Production location ID: LZ10TDXSA3XRJ
Sandbox application ID: sandbox-sq0idb-vbir7mYTLGIbxuJnqV_amw
Sandbox location ID: L3CENQG64CFD3

Can someone check whether SearchSubscriptions is disabled or failing on Square’s side for this account? Happy to send example subscription IDs and exact request times privately.

Hi @agenticapples,

I checked your account and found the location ID you provided. I didn’t see any subscriptions in the Dashboard for that account, which may explain why the production search isn’t returning any subscriptions.

The 500 errors aren’t appearing in your Sandbox API logs. It’s possible the error is occurring in your application or another part of the request path before the request is logged by Square.
