I can’t figure out why, but my orders/search queries have been sending me VERY old orders (created 6-11 months old) with new update times.
It’s not in response to anything we’re doing in our square merchant account, but it has happened 10 or so times in the past 12 hours.
I am querying for updates, so that makes sense to me, but there’s no reason why those orders should be getting updated.
What could be going on?

Were the orders refunded? Do you have some order_ids that we can look into?

I heard back from the team and the reason your seeing older orders being updated is because we had to run a backfill on a large number of orders for some internal fields. This backfill is what triggered the update.

Is that done? Or should I expect it to keep happening? Also, any chance you can stop the internal fields that won’t be transferred anyhow to not show up as an update?
It should complete next week. Unfortunately, were not able to stop triggering the updates at this time. We’re constantly working to improve our features based on feedback like this, so I’ll be sure to share your request to the API product team.
