Is it possible to log into the Square app with a sandbox account?

Like the title says. Seems like you can only use production accounts with the Square app

Currently the ability to test in sandbox with the Square app isn’t currently available. You will need to use production to test with the app. We’re constantly working to improve our features based on feedback like this, so I’ll be sure to share your request to the API product team. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Bryan, is the only (best) way to test Sandbox account using Postman or similar API testing tool?

Yeah, Postman is great and we also have our API Explorer that you can use to build requests and run them in sandbox. :slightly_smiling_face:

Greetings, just wondering if this is still the case. Was hoping to test our new webstore in sandbox mode.

Hi Bryan,

Just thought I would check in on this topic and see if there has been any movement? Not having this functionality makes the process of testing how different clients actually use the app to make sales very difficult to nearly impossible. For example I can test everything going in one direction from the POS system up to square but then to test the reverse direction I need to either set up a new testing environment with production credentials and actual credit cards that will need to be refunded for each transaction for testing which doesn’t seem appropriate.

I know you can use the api to make orders in the system but actual people use the app and based on past experience there is more than one way to do things which must all be tested.

It seems like this could be accomplished using the online terminal that is already a part of the website.

At this time the Square app doesn’t support a sandbox. Our SDKs and API’s have a supported sandbox but the Square app doesn’t currently have one.
