Getting Error when following Shannon Skipper Sandbox 101 tutorial

Hi -
I’m new to Square, just set up my developer account yesterday. I went through Shannon Skipper’s Sandbox 101 tutorial exactly today on how to use Square with Flutter and also obtained my first application ID. When running the tutorial I also entered an actual correct VISA card. However when I hit SAVE, instead of getting Success like in the tutorial, I get “Error - Something went wrong. Please contact the developer of this application and provide them with this error code: card_entry_unauthorized”.

Does anyone have any info on this? I’m dead in the water here before I’m even starting. If this can’t be resolved I guess I’ll have to find a different payment provider.

Hi @realhelp welcome to the forums!

If you’re running in sandbox envrionment, then real cards will not work; only sandbox test cards will work. With that said, the “unauthorized” error is meaning something else. The application id that you’ve input is not valid; can you be sure you’ve copied the application from the Square dashboard successfully?
