Terminal Checkout API now causes promot to choose payment type

A recent update to the square terminal has caused a new screen to appear in the normal checkout tapping a card.

Our customers are now complaining about the increased friction that this causes in the payment flow as the staff member need to control and select the correct payment method, rather than simply allow their customer to tap their card and continue.

How can this step, that was added in a recent update (1-2 weeks) be bypassed using the API to initiate a card present payment and revert to the simple tap or insert card for payment.
