Safari on iPad asks for permission to open in Square for every transaction

Hi
I have a web app (Vue js) running on Safari that connects to Square via the POS API. Everything is working except that Safari (or perhaps the OS) asks for permission to “open in Square” EVERY single time. I’m pretty sure Chrome will remember user permissions and only ask once, but we must use Safari. Does anyone know how to work around this? I’ve been all through safari settings and even experimental webkit features, but cant find anything - maybe I’m missing?

I’m using iPad(8th gen) iPadOS v14.4

Unfortunately this has been determined to be a limitation of iOS and Safari, so there’s no way to prevent that message from showing up at this time while using Safari.
