Question on the terminal API

If I login and use the virtual terminal on my laptop, then on the square terminal when charge is pressed are the same items as per my screen.

For reasons beyond the scope of this email, we have a develop a program that uses the terminal api.

What we need to be able to do is to present to a customer via the square terminal are individual line items entered entered into our another program. All of the examples are for a single payment representing the total amount to be paid.

Is it possible, and if so how, to send to (present on) the square terminal, individual line items of products purchased by a customer?

OR

Is the only way of achieving such functionality using the virtual terminal once logging into dashboard?

:wave: Currently with the Terminal API the ability to display the itemized sale on the Terminal screen isn’t currently available. This is a very popular feature request and we hope to have more options for you soon, so thanks for your continued patience. :slightly_smiling_face:

but if the user does login to to their square account they are able to use the virtual terminal and that does replicate what would be visible on a laptop screen to the terminal?

Yes, the itemization does show with the Terminal connected to Virtual Terminal however for Terminal API it isn’t currently available. :slightly_smiling_face:
