We really need this as well, most of our orders are submitted in advance and aren’t finalized until the day it’s going to be delivered or picked up, we’d like to be able to update and view the order as it changes and then pay it by cash, credit card, or invoice for it.
You can actually split payment on an invoice by updating the request type (request_type
or requestType
) to INSTALLMENT
and set the percentage of the total, using different in-person card payments for each “installment.”
That involves the POS person needing access to the API and that still doesn’t solve the problem that none of the additional “installment” payments would be tied to different customers. Not a suitable solution.
My vote for this feature!!! I’m really surprised Square has not implemented this feature given how much customers are asking for it…
@pak77 are you saying you can create a saved, unpaid order via the API and fulfill it using Square for Retail?
Are there any updates on this? We need this feature for our takeaway business.
At this time there isn’t any additional updates on this.
