Is the Nested Modifiers beta supported by Square APIs?

Hi Square Developer Community,

Square has a beta feature for Nested Modifiers, where selecting one modifier can reveal another modifier set.

I reviewed the current API documentation, including CatalogModifier, CatalogModifierList, and CatalogItemModifierListInfo, but I could not find a documented field representing a parent-child relationship between a modifier and another modifier list.

Could someone from Square clarify the following?

  1. Is the nested modifier relationship currently exposed through the Catalog API?
  2. When retrieving a catalog containing nested modifiers, where is the parent-child relationship represented in the API response?
  3. How should nested modifiers be submitted through Square’s creation APIs, particularly when creating an order? Should both the parent and child modifiers be added as regular modifiers, or is there a separate structure for preserving the nested relationship?
  4. If API support is not currently available, is it planned, and is there any beta documentation that can be shared?

Our main concern is ensuring that an integration can correctly read the nested modifier structure and submit the selected parent and child modifiers when creating an order.
