I don’t know how difficult it would be to implement but I’ve got a use case and would greatly appreciate it 
At this time the ability to get an order by the reference_id isn’t currently available with our APIs. We’re constantly working to improve our features based on feedback like this, so I’ll be sure to share your request to the API product team.
