Can Square Reader read original NFC cards created on my own?

I would like Square Reader to be able to read NFC payment methods (e.g. Google Pay, Apple Pay) as well as original physical NFC cards that I will create on my own.

For example, I would like to do the following:
I will prepare identity cards with NFC chips for the staff members.
Staff members can use this ID card in order to receive goods for free.
Non-staff members can buy the goods using a normal NFC payment method.

 Square readers can accept NFC payment for Google Pay, Apple Pay, and any NFC enabled card baring a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Union Pay, or Discover logo. Unfortunately a custom NFC card isn’t currently available to be used with Square readers. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for answering.
I got it.

Is it possible to read custom NFC cards with a Square Terminal?

Currently, the same goes for the Square Terminal. Reading a custom NFC isn’t currently available. :slightly_smiling_face:

Is there any possibility of including this functionality on the Reader/Terminal roadmap?

We’d love to be able to read our customer’s NFC loyalty cards with Square to streamline identifying them.

Thanks

At this time we don’t have public roadmaps for features requests and releases like this. :slightly_smiling_face:
