i have my app working taking applepay using the square web payments sdk. it works fine on apple supported devices.
now apple has apparently implemented applepay to work with chrome and firefox on non apple supported devices. the apple pay button comes up and once clicked you get a scan code and you can then finish the payment on your apple device. you can read about that here.
i am curious if this functionality is now offered utilizing the square web payments sdk? various AI bots seem to suggest that it is; but i can not find any documentation on it. and the code that they recommend, well, i can not get that to work.
if anyone has any guidance on the topic, i would appreciate it.

As of the latest information available, the Square Web Payments SDK supports Apple Pay on Apple devices, but there is no official documentation or confirmation from Square regarding support for Apple Pay on non-Apple devices using browsers like Chrome and Firefox. The functionality you described, where Apple Pay can be initiated on non-Apple devices and completed on an Apple device, is not explicitly mentioned in Square’s current documentation for the Web Payments SDK.
If this functionality becomes available, it would typically be announced in Square’s official release notes or documentation updates. For now, it seems that the Web Payments SDK is designed to work with Apple Pay primarily on Apple-supported devices. If you are encountering issues or need further clarification, it might be beneficial to keep an eye on Square’s developer updates or reach out to Square’s support for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
