Add 3D Secure SCA enabled to the card payment

Hello Team, We are using you product for payment and as per the requirement need to implement SCA(Strong Customer Authentication) to each card will used in our product. I have followed this doc https://developer.squareup.com/docs/web-payments/sca and it is working in all demo card mentioned in this doc except three(4800 0000 0000 0004,5222 2200 0000 0005,4811 1100 0000 0008). Please let me how to enabled SCA(Strong Customer Authentication) to each card no matter from which origin we are using or tell me if there is any possibility to check where particular card is not providing SCA so that we can decline that card.

:wave: Glad to hear you were able to implement SCA. If you need an additional layer of security for your card payments, 3D Secure (3DS) is a standardized way to authenticate electronic card transactions.

When you create a rule to enable 3DS, customers may be required to verify they are authorized to use the card making the purchase. This is usually done through a one-time passcode sent via text or email, a biometric scan, such as a fingerprint or face ID, or, in some cases, a redirection to the buyer’s card-issuing bank to verify the payment.

If the buyer cannot verify that they are the cardholder, they will not be able to complete the transaction. However, if the buyer verifies their identity and that the payment is not fraudulent, they can complete the transaction. If the transaction is completed and authorized through 3D Secure, the liability for fraud chargebacks then shifts from the seller to the card-issuing bank.

For more information please see Risk Manager 3D Secure (3DS). :slightly_smiling_face:

@Bryan-Square Appreciate you for instance reply. Could you please tell me why is not showing Risk manager tab under squaresanbox dashboard? Please see below screen shot for our dash board.

Currently, Risk Manager isn’t available in sandbox. We’re constantly working to improve our features based on feedback like this, so I’ll be sure to share your request to the API product team. :slightly_smiling_face:

Now, We have live account with squarup but still not able to see risk-manager tab under transaction. Please see below screen and let me know why we are not able to see risk-manger tab.

@Bryan-Square Any updates on the above.

What’s your application ID or location_id? :slightly_smiling_face:

@Bryan-Square Could you please share your mail id so that can send confidential information?

Feel free to message me the info on the Forum. Also the application ID and the location_id aren’t secrete cause they are often configured in the client side js. It’s the access token that should never be shared. :slightly_smiling_face:

@Bryan-Square Application Id: sandbox-sq0idb-4QUTpBgx4cl4oevkFPe_Zw and location-id: LFXMYCEHWM7YJ
Please let me know if you need anything for checking this issue.

According to the team it’s not showing up cause no online payments have been processed so it does not show up in the default navigation menu options. However you can still sign up through Square Risk Manager. :slightly_smiling_face:

Square lets developers build an ecosystem for businesses to seamlessly accept payments online, in store, or on the go through Payments and eCommerce APIs. Our API’s are best utilized by someone with API coding experience or working directly with a developer.

If you don’t have experience in building API tools and would like to accept payments online, we recommend connecting with a Square Specialist or connecting your account with one of our eCommerce partners. :slightly_smiling_face:
