I’m developing the website using Square API for a restaurant, but how can I control if the location is taking online orders or not? Let’s say that they want to pause it or they closed for several days, I know there’s a feature in the Dashboard that actually pauses square site orders, but how can we catch the event in the API? is there any endpoint?
At this time the ability to control whether or not a Square account is accepting online orders with our APIs isn’t currently possible. We’re constantly working to improve our features based on feedback like this, so I’ll be sure to share your request to the API product team.
Has there been any change here? We would like to be able to detect if online orders have been paused through the POS. Is there any field available through the API that can show us this status?
Also, I understand there is a way to set a custom prep time on the POS. Is this value available via the API as well?
I’m not looking to change or modify the values, just want the ability to view them.
@Bryan-Square Just tagging you here in case you didn’t see my message above. Thanks!
At this time there are no additional updates on this feature request.
Thanks @Bryan-Square just to confirm, I was asking specifically about getting the “paused” status as well as the prep time value set from the POS in a read-only fashion - not modifying them in any way. So these values still remain unavailable to us?
Yes, they still aren’t available at this time. This is a very popular feature request and we hope to have more for you in the future.
