Transaction client_id in a new System

I’m developing a replacement system. We are using software that is generating transactions and I need to be able to associate the data with Square to those transactions.

We are connecting to a third-party system and the only reference I have matches the client_id in a transaction. This is depricated, so I’m looking for an alternative. What other Apis expose this data?
