Restrict CatalogDiscount to CustomerIDs/CustomerGroup

It would be nice to be able to restrict CatalogDiscount objects to specific customer_ids or customer_groups, and to also be able to set a max ‘redemption’ per customer limit on them. I know this would move them closer to the LoyaltyRewards concept, but it would also make it possible to programmatically create automated one-off discounts for specific customers.

Sorry if this is already possible and I haven’t worked it out from the API yet.

Any thoughts?
