Apple recently released iOS 18.4, and we have launched a new version of the Mobile Payments SDK to ensure full compatibility with this OS version.
If your app is currently integrated with the Mobile Payments SDK or the Reader SDK, please complete the following steps as soon as possible:
Mobile Payments SDK: Upgrade to Mobile Payments SDK v2.2.1. View the docs.
Reader SDK: Migrate to Mobile Payments SDK v2.2.1. Note that the Reader SDK is deprecated and will retire December 31, 2025. It is no longer receiving new releases or updates. View the migration guide.
If you choose not to take action, we cannot assure you that your current SDK version will continue to fully support iOS 18.4 in the future. To minimize the risk of unexpected connectivity issues with Square hardware and avoid potential disruptions to payment processing, please onboard the Mobile Payments SDK v2.2.1 at your earliest convenience.
