A good general tip for working with credit card systems is, if you have real doubt about whether it’s working properly, is to pay for a transaction as if you were a customer. Obviously you should NOT do this routinely/regularly, as it can interfere with fraud systems, but the advantage of doing it occasionally is that you can see what the customer sees, exactly.

Knowing exactly what the customer sees is so helpful to solving problems more effectively and completely!
