Yes, you can display information on the terminal during a checkout by setting the TerminalCheckout note parameter to the partner name, setting an invoice/order number that is also visible on the partner platform, and setting the reference\_id parameter to a unique human-readable reference number. This typically helps in reconciling payments across the partner and Square platforms. However, please note that the Terminal API doesn’t support itemized transactions. Transactions processed with the Terminal API appear on buyer receipts and in the Seller Dashboard with an optional note and the total transaction amount.

Hi,

As far as I know, it’s true, that the Square Terminal API doesn’t support itemized information during a checkout, so individual items won’t be displayed. But you can include a summary or reference details by setting the note parameter in the Terminal API’s TerminalCheckout request. This could include a brief description, like Order #12345 or the main product category. The reference\_id field can also be used for internal tracking, allowing for easy reconciliation in the Square Dashboard.

Hope it helps
