We’re looking for some guidance regarding access to Square’s franchise APIs.
We’re the team behind Gegsy, a white-label mobile app and online ordering platform for Square merchants. Gegsy is available in the Square App Marketplace:

We’ve recently onboarded a merchant who is a serial franchisor, including a well-known national restaurant brand that runs on Square. As we’ve started discussions about expanding across additional franchise locations, we’ve discovered that our biggest roadblock is not having access to the franchise APIs required to support Square’s franchise account structure.
We’re hoping someone from the Square team (or another developer who’s been through this process) can help answer a few questions:
- What is the process for requesting access to the franchise APIs?
- Are there any eligibility requirements or prerequisites?
- Is there a partner or team at Square we should be working with to begin the approval process?
We’ve invested heavily in the Square ecosystem and would love to continue growing alongside it. Access to the franchise APIs would allow us to support larger restaurant organizations while continuing to provide the same seamless experience we already offer independent Square sellers.
Any guidance or direction would be greatly appreciated.
