Request for Discount Codes API Access – Square Vouchers – FedeleApp

Hi Square Developer team,

I’m developing a native iOS ordering app for my own restaurant, Fedele’s East Gosford, using the Square APIs.

The app already integrates successfully with our Production Square Catalog, Orders API and Payments API.

We also use Square Vouchers, created in Square Dashboard under Customers → Marketing → Vouchers. We want customers using our native FedeleApp to be able to enter these same existing Square voucher codes at checkout.

We need Square to remain the source of truth for voucher validity, expiry, redemption limits and the associated pricing rule/discount.

I understand that the Discount Codes API is currently available by special request. Could you please grant Discount Codes API access for our FedeleApp developer application, or advise what information you require from me to enable it?

Our intended flow is:

Customer enters an existing Square Voucher code → FedeleApp backend validates it with Square → retrieves the associated pricing rule/discount and restrictions → applies it to the Square order → redemption is handled correctly by Square.

We do not want to maintain a separate voucher system outside Square.

I’m happy to provide our Production Application ID or any other application/account details privately if required.

I also have one related API question regarding FedeleApp.

Our Square account uses Square Online’s automatic Weekend Surcharge and Public Holiday Surcharge functionality for pickup orders.

The Catalog API exposes our SERVICE_CHARGE objects and percentages, and the Orders API can calculate them when explicitly supplied. However, I can’t find a supported API that exposes the Square Online rules determining when those service charges apply — including pickup-date schedules, public-holiday applicability and overlap/precedence.

Our goal is for FedeleApp to use Square as the sole source of truth and apply exactly the same surcharge that Square Online would apply to the same pickup order, without maintaining a separate holiday calendar or surcharge schedule in our app.

Is there an existing or unreleased API that either:

  • exposes the Square Online automatic service-charge rules/schedules; or
  • evaluates an order/location/pickup timestamp and returns the service charges Square Online would apply?

If this is also available through an unreleased API, I’d be very interested in including it in our FedeleApp integration.
