Feature Request: Link Appointments to Orders or Payments

It would be very useful if the Bookings API exposed the Order ID and/or Payment ID associated with an appointment.

Our use case is to determine whether a specific appointment has already been paid for and to retrieve the related transaction details.

For example, given a Booking ID, we would like to be able to identify the corresponding Square Order or Payment and check:

  • Whether the appointment was paid

  • Amount paid

  • Payment status

  • Refunds or partial refunds

  • Tips and other payment details

Appointments, Orders, and Payments already appear connected within Square, but there does not seem to be a straightforward public API relationship between them.

Exposing an order_id or payment_id on the booking, or providing an endpoint to retrieve the associated transaction, would make appointment/payment reconciliation much easier.

This feature would streamline reconciliation significantly! Having direct order_id and payment_id fields on the Bookings API response would save developer overhead and make payment tracking far more reliable.

Hi @oko

Yes you’re right, the public Bookings API doesn’t expose a direct booking_id → order_id or payment_id relationship.

For an integration that controls both scheduling and payment, the recommended approach is to maintain the association in your application when the records are created (such as storing the booking_id, order_id, and payment_id together, and an optional choice is to add a custom attribute.)

Thank you for this feature request, we’ll log this feedback for our team!
