Creator Account Testing – Enable Production for Test Account

Hello, We are a platform preparing for launch and have connected a non-real creator account specifically for testing.

We need to enable production payments on this test creator account so we can confirm that our payment flow works correctly before launch.

Square requires identity verification for merchant accounts before accepting payments. However, this creator account is only a testing account and is not a real merchant. It will not be used for actual business activity or ongoing payments.

How can we enable production on this creator test account specifically for testing purposes?

We only need to make 1–2 small transactions of approximately $1 each to verify that the complete payment flow works correctly, including:

  • the payment being processed successfully;

  • the correct Square processing fee;

  • the correct amount going to the creator; and

  • the correct amount being distributed to the platform.

Once testing is complete, the creator account can be disconnected.

Is there a supported Creator Account Testing process that allows production payments to be enabled for this type of test account without completing merchant identity verification?

There’s no process that enables production payments without identity verification. That applies to test accounts too. Once the account is verified, run your $1 transactions and refund every card charge afterward.

Yes, if it is a separate account you will need to complete the identity verification process again.
